My Reading Partners
These are my reading partners, my daughter loves to lay next to me and listen to a story regardless if there are pictures or not. It is the time we spend together that matter. We can lay there and get immersed in to a book together and it is the best time spent.
An are you a weather geek? Did you have to do some research to write this book? This is a nonfiction book with some narrative aspects too because you share your opinion and thoughts throughout.
ReplyDeleteLook at the CCSS for writing nonfiction for 4/5th grades and see if you can add standards and revise accordingly so that you can use your story as a mentor text with students. For example, adding text features such as labels, headings, vocabulary words, etc is a nonfiction writing standard--you could easily add these to demonstrate and model to your young students what they need to have in their nonfiction pieces.
