Writing Writing is hard, it is difficult and time-consuming. When writing you have to take time to make sure your grammar is correct, punctuations are in place and the words are spelled correctly. Then there is that timeline, making sure events are in order and the timeline is in a linear sequence is important so readers understand what is going on in the story. On the other hand, writing lets you communicate, express yourself, and recount events in your own words. It is a segway into letting others know your story and what you want to be told. It gives readers an idea of history, information and how to do things. Even though the writing is time-consuming and redundant, it is also therapeutic and a way to organize your thoughts. Writing teaches students to communicate and how they are feeling or what will help them make their writing more impactful.

I Come From, I come from Washington State, born into an immigrant culture and family.   When looking at literacy and how we interact with our readers, it is important to realize that we are not all the same. When it comes to comprehension, understanding and interpreting the material being read it may look differently to everyone that is reading the material. Understanding that readers and writers come with their own experiences and comprehension is important on being a good teacher. Making sure that readers and writers know that we are not all the same and are unique in our way of think and level of understanding is a step in making sure we are successful in our strategies for becoming effective communicators, teachers and students. Knowing and understanding there are differences are the first steps into taking action so that the environment is a nurturing environment for readers no matter the level they are at.
